Probabilistic resource intelligence
Confidence,
by the layer.
Lodestone Labs trains machine learning models on geoscientific data to turn opaque, static resource and reserve estimates into calibrated, probabilistic ones. Lithological settings get rated for prospectivity, and for the uncertainty behind that rating.
The bottleneck
Uncertainty is expensive, and it's rationing investment.
Resource and reserve estimates carry estimation uncertainty that limits sustainable investment in natural resource projects. Financial institutions have responded with higher thresholds for funding greenfield exploration, while major mining conglomerates have pulled back on exploration activity to preserve balance-sheet optionality. The result is fewer new projects entering the pipeline, widening the bottleneck for critical mineral supply chains.
How it works
From raw geoscience to an investable estimate.
Probabilistic models, trained on geoscientific data
We train machine learning models on large geoscientific datasets to generate accurate, probabilistic resource and reserve estimates. Each lithological setting is rated for its prospectivity, and for the uncertainty behind that rating.
Benchmarked against real deposits
Model performance, accuracy, and efficiency are tested against data from known producing and depleted mineral deposits, so estimates are grounded in outcomes the industry can already check.
One model, two decisions
The same probabilistic output serves two moments that matter: guiding where the next drill hole goes in the field, and giving investment teams the confidence to back a project. We built for both from day one.
Why it matters
Narrower uncertainty changes what you can act on.
A higher degree of confidence is what converts a resource into a reserve, and what separates a hunch from a decision. Reducing estimation uncertainty gives field teams a sharper case for the next hole and gives investors the confidence to back a project, easing the supply chain bottlenecks that have built up across the sector.
